Here I am

by Keiko Shibata

under my breath

a pause

raindrops kiss the garden

sheltered by trees and shrubs

from the din of the city

beyond the walls

intimacy within

ardent and impetuous

too brief

taste unquenchable

lips soft

wetness of tongue

a scarlet thread

desire unleashed

incense a glow

the fragrance

of loving

lingers in a memory

and now

here I am.
