Musings: a winter’s tale in the mountains

by LJ Frank

I’ve lived in various cities around the Earth, planted flowers and trees in loamy and clay soils, sang and drank in cultures diverse, baked bread for the sake of kneading dough, dipped my paint brush into oil to add texture to an oversized canvas, listened to mountain streams gurgle and waves crash ashore on some remote sandy beach…and then sat in the quiet of a boat cabin jotting down my thoughts as the seagulls outside dived for a meal in blue green waters and I looked below the surface for that Muse beyond my reach.
