only an appearance

exiting hotel

overcast city street

crowded with faces

a side glance smile

wrinkles on cheeks

aromas fill the nose

senses sublime

a whirlwind lifts my skirt

blushing no longer

memories of child

emptying mind

stomach gurgles

laugh at myself

reflection of a woman

passing a store window

not looking today

only an appearance.
